Employee Spotlight: Keiko Tsuboi
How long have you been with Acceleration Partners and what is your current role?
I have been with Acceleration Partners (AP) for over 3 years and am currently a Senior Account Manager on Global Accounts.
I am based in Sydney, Australia on our APAC team, but I am originally from Japan and manage clients who mainly have a presence in the Japanese market.
How would you describe what you do at AP to someone who isn’t in the affiliate marketing industry?
The best way to describe my role is that I help brands build partnerships with publishers such as loyalty/coupon sites, mass media and influencers to accelerate lead/sales generation.
We work with leading global brands to help them expand their market share by leveraging our expertise in partner marketing and devising strategies to reach their specific goals.
What is a trend that you are currently seeing in the affiliate marketing industry?
COVID-19 has had a huge impact on the daily lives of consumers and the global economy. The effect of the pandemic on affiliate and e-commerce depends on the industry. If they are related to travel, we saw a significant decline in sales, but some industries who had a positive impact from the pandemic, such as groceries and healthcare, saw a surge for the last six months because of the stay at home orders.
What is a fun fact about Sydney that some people may not know?
I’m truly in love with Sydney so that I can think of so many fun facts.
First of all, Sydney is one of the first big cities in the world to celebrate the New Year. Its huge fireworks display over the Harbour Bridge is spectacular.
Secondly, Sydney shares a latitude with some other great world cities, such as Los Angeles and Buenos Aires. The weather is mild all year.
Lastly, as a trivia, The Matrix series, Independence Day and The Great Gatsby were filmed in the beautiful city Sydney.
What’s one aspect of your job that you truly love?
Creativity. I enjoy coming together as a team to brainstorm and discuss campaign/promotion ideas for our clients. We can perform any number of functions for clients from strategy, design and media opportunities. There is no exact answer like in math (1+1=2) and I love the creative process of affiliate marketing.
Since my clients are global accounts and interested in expanding their Japanese market share, I can use my expertise and background related to the Japanese market and propose practical and innovative strategies to help clients achieve goals in a short time.
