Ahead of the Affiliate Huddle Conference taking place on the 10th of May we decided to sit down with James Little, Conference Co-Organiser and Group Commercial Director at TopCashback to find out more about the event and what attendees can expect from the conference.
Firstly, could you give us a quick overview of Affiliate Huddle?
AffiliateHuddle is a completely free one day conference of knowledge sharing. With around 500 people in attendance, it’s unlike other free events as the main focus is the content and talks with a great line up of speakers throughout the day. This will be the 5th Huddle that we’ve done and I honestly believe they get better each time thanks to the feedback we get from attendees.
What were your reasons for creating this event?
The idea came about after visiting BrightonSEO – which is another free conference that Kelvin organises. I loved the way the event ran so had a chat with Kelvin afterwards and asked if he’d been keen on partnering up with TopCashback to organise a similar event. At the time other affiliate conferences were moving away from being affiliate-only and the costs to attend could be high so we felt there was a gap in the market for an event of it’s kind. The first one we did was for 200 people and we hope that the show continues to get bigger and better, perhaps even turning into a two-day show next year.
How important is it for people in the affiliate industry to attend?
We’re really excited about the day and hope that everyone who is able to attend walks away with some good insights and great connections. If you’re in the industry it’s turned into a key event and we’ve had loads of huge brands sign up on both the publisher and advertiser side so it’s definitely worth the day away from the office! Even if you can’t make it in the day there will be some evening networking from 6pm that everyone is welcome to attend.
What can attendees expect to take-away from the event?
One of the sessions I’m most looking forward to is the morning keynote where AP’s own, Helen Southgate, will be presenting the results of the latest IAB/PwC survey. It’s the first time they have been announced this way so I’m excited to see how this goes! There will also be the ask the networks panel at the end of the day which is always one worth sticking around for. Other than that we’ll announce the full agenda very soon so keep an eye out on the AffiliateHuddle Website to find out more about all the sessions. We’ve asked all the speakers to give some good case studies that show how vibrant the industry is and provide some really good advice for both publishers and advertisers to go away with and action.
