Acceleration Partners’ Publisher Spotlight is an ongoing series where members of our Publisher Development team shine a light on innovative publishers from across the world.

This month, Vikki Danielson, Publisher Development Manager at Acceleration Partners (AP), chatted with Matt McEvoy, CEO of MaxBounty, about the network’s role within the affiliate marketing industry, how they are helping their advertising partners and where the company is looking to grow in 2019.

What is Maxbounty.com and what does MaxBounty do?

MaxBounty is a performance-based CPA network that specializes in maximizing the ROI of both advertisers and affiliates. We accomplish this by partnering brands with a global network of online specialists who can help them increase their awareness, sales, and leads.

For over a decade MaxBounty has been redefining the meaning of trust between advertiser and affiliates, can you tell us how?

Ethics and transparency play a crucial role in the affiliate/advertiser relationship. Providing brands with both control and data regarding where their campaigns are being promoted and who’s promoting them has always been a priority for us. That’s how trust is created, and the more trust there is between us and our affiliates and advertisers, the greater chance there is for success for all three parties.

Who are your current advertising partners and how are you helping them?

We work with a diverse number of advertisers from small start-ups to big brands like Booking.com and Airbnb. Every advertiser has their own unique objective, so we approach each one differently to ensure we’re building and launching campaigns that meet their specific goals.

We recently launched a new tracking platform to both simplify and improve the experience of advertising on a network like MaxBounty.

An advertiser’s first step after deciding to work with a network shouldn’t have to involve acquiring 3rd party tracking. Our platform ensures their campaigns are tracked in the same place they’re launched while providing them with more control and insight. This allows them to develop a better understanding of their campaigns’ progress to determine what works and what doesn’t.

Another way we assist advertisers is by eliminating the work involved in navigating an affiliate base. We do that for them, finding affiliates who utilize a permitted expertise, whether that be media buying, social media, or placing display ads on their blog, to promote their product and service to the right audience.

Transparency and fraud are always hot topics, what would you say has been the biggest challenge so far for brands and how can MaxBounty help with this?

Advertisers understandably want to protect their brands, especially if they’re entering a space that’s unfamiliar to them. We continually alter and evolve our compliance procedures to ensure we fulfill that desire for protection and security.

No one understands the industry better than us because we’ve helped shape its identity over the past 15 years. This gives us an advantage over other networks in that we’re aware of and can detect new techniques that individuals are using to disguise their fraudulent behavior.

We also understand that each brand is unique and requires different solutions and varying levels of transparency. We’re willing to offer that to each advertiser we work with because we understand how big of a role that flexibility can play in an advertiser’s success at MaxBounty.

Why would you recommend MaxBounty? What is the main differentiator to other CPA networks?

What separates us from other networks is our dedication to providing a comprehensive but tailored service and experience.

That’s one of the objectives of our advertiser tracking platform that we mentioned above. We want to provide our clients with everything they need in one spot and we accomplish that by continuously evolving our network and what it can offer.

Control, tracking, transparency, flexibility, reporting, and communication are all things that we know advertisers want and we believe we offer that total package better than any other network.

What should we be looking out for from MaxBounty in 2019?

Our focus for the second half of 2018 was on implementing new technology and offering more features to both sides of our client base. We plan to continue that developmental momentum into the new year where we’ll also be celebrating our 15th anniversary as a network.

What do you think will be the biggest trend in 2019 in the affiliate industry?

I think one trend we’re likely to see is more advertisers becoming comfortable with testing the performance marketing space. By that I mean actually incorporating performance marketing initiatives into their advertising plans.

We believe a shift in the industry is happening where networks are going to realize that it’s important to provide advertisers with more incentive and control. This is exactly why we launched our own Advertiser Tracking Platform. Technological innovation that can provide brands with easier access to data and features will only help to convince more advertisers that working with a network like MaxBounty will achieve their marketing goals.

Finally, any advice for brands just getting started in affiliate marketing?

Make sure you thoroughly understand both your brand and your audience. If you come to us with a solid grasp on both of those things and communicate them to us, we’ll have a better idea of how to structure and launch campaigns that have the best chance of achieving your definition of results.
