Zach Cannon is an experienced Senior Account Manager at Acceleration Partners, working with some of our most strategic clients. When he’s not developing successful performance marketing programs for an array of clients, Zach spends quality time with his family, avidly golfs and recently started turning up the heat in the kitchen whipping up some new dishes.
How did you end up with a career in Affiliate Marketing?
I was in the process of searching for a new job when I came across an ad on Craigslist for an affiliate marketing coordinator position.
I was hesitant at first because I knew nothing about the company advertising the position or affiliate marketing in general. However, it worked out and I’ve been working in the affiliate industry since 2012.
What excites you about working in the Performance Marketing industry?
There are always new and interesting opportunities to expand performance-based marketing programs and to develop unique and valuable partnerships. There’s never a dull moment in our world!
AP has won multiple awards for its culture and environment. What do you think is the biggest contributor to AP’s ongoing workplace recognitions?
The company culture is something you hear about pretty extensively in the interview process and I admittedly wondered if it was as good as advertised.
After being here for over two years, the culture completely lived up to my expectations. The fact that our leadership team embodies our core values and is 100% transparent with the greater team ultimately makes for a great work environment.
Why did you choose to work at AP?
Acceleration Partners offered the work-life integration that I was looking for and that I continue to value tremendously. AP gives me the opportunity to not only spend time with my family, but also additional time to do the things I’m passionate about. It’s a much better use of my time as opposed to sitting in a car commuting for two hours every day.
It’s definitely nice to get that commuting time back. What are some things you are passionate about outside of work?
Working remotely gives my wife and I the opportunity to go over to our parent’s house for dinner multiple times a week and to spend quality time with our daughter.
I’m also an avid golfer and try to play as frequently as possible. I’m hoping to have the opportunity in the next few years to play Pebble Beach, where the US Open was just held, as it’s always been an item on my bucket list.
What’s the best thing that happened to you outside of work in the last two years?
My wife and I welcomed our first child into the world, Reese, on January 2nd, 2018.
Congratulations! Will Reese be as big a Disney fan as you? How do you feel about the Aladdin and upcoming Lion King remakes?
I’m totally excited! I haven’t seen the Aladdin remake yet but will definitely be in the theatre when the Lion King comes out.
I think the remakes are a great opportunity for younger generations to experience classics in the same quality of picture that they’re used to.
We heard you recently got into cooking. What’s your favorite summer dish to cook so far?
Yes! I stumbled across a YouTube channel for a guy who calls himself Sam the Cooking Guy.
I started watching his content and it really inspired me to try new recipes. For summer time, I think you have to prioritize using the grill and being outside, so I love to cook homemade burgers and fresh veggies out on the grill.
Sounds delicious! Thank you, Zach! So glad to have you on the AP team and let us know when you make it to Pebble Beach so we can cheer you on!
