Acceleration Partners Associate Account Manager Justin Troutman

How long have you been with Acceleration Partners (AP) and what is your current role?

I have been with Acceleration Partners since April 2018, which puts me at a little over two years and quickly moving toward three.

I am currently an Associate Account Manager on the Core Accounts team.


How would you describe your job to someone who isn’t familiar with affiliate marketing?

I help build and facilitate relationships between brands and advertisers to help build a mutual partnership that helps each party grow and succeed.


What is a common misconception about the affiliate marketing industry?

You don’t need to communicate with your partners, you can just set it and forget it.

Partner marketing is incredibly relationship focused and it’s crucial to be in regular communication with your partners.


Of AP’s three core values, which are you currently focusing on the most in either your professional or personal life?

I feel that all three core values are part of my everyday life, both personally and professionally.

However, with how everything is in the world right now, it’s hard to know what can happen next. I’ve been really working on “owning it” to control what can be controlled for the best outcome in any given circumstance.


What’s one aspect of your job that you truly love?

I love building partnerships and relationships with clients and publishers.

I am a huge extrovert and have been told I can make friends with anyone. It’s always amazing connecting with clients and publishers and giving them the confidence to know that everything we are doing is a valued and true partnership.

Some of these partnerships have actually turned into friendship outside of work.


What are you currently watching on Netflix?

Lately I have been gravitating to Chef’s Table, but I have been told I need to watch Cobra Kai.

I have a hunch I will binge it and have it finished in a ridiculously short period of time and then go back to some type of food documentary or Twin Peaks.
