How long have you been with Acceleration Partners and what is your current role?
I’ve worked at Acceleration Partners since February 2019, so just over two years. I am currently an Associate Account Director in Key Accounts.
What do you do as an Associate Account Director in Key Accounts?
As an Associate Account Director there are three main parts to my job; support my team so they can achieve our clients’ goals, team happiness and key risk avoidance. I help in giving strategic direction and guidance for the accounts, ensuring we are thinking two steps ahead and considering different options.
A large part of my job is to make certain that my team is happy. We like to have fun on my team with things like a weekly themed pet picture share-out in our team Slack channel. Lastly, another significant part of my job is to safeguard against key risk misses.
What got you into affiliate marketing?
I sort of stumbled into affiliate marketing. Previous to Acceleration Partners, I was at a full-service agency. There I was on the account team and worked on paid social and affiliate campaigns. After about a year and a half, I switched to the affiliate media team and worked on affiliate exclusively.
If you could give advice to someone starting out as an account manager at Acceleration Partners, what would you tell them?
Remember that you have an agency of almost 200 people to use as resources. Acceleration Partners also has a lot of information out there in our Litmos trainings and Guru cards, along with the experience of other people on your team, in your department and across the agency.
What is your favorite part of your job?
What I like most is that each day is dynamic. I’m constantly doing something different and having to really use my brain to solve problems.
What is your favorite hobby or activity to do outside of work?
I love to eat at fancy restaurants. My husband and I joke that the restaurants I love most use tweezers to plate their food. I also really enjoy getting outside to ride my bike or going to a park for a hike. I’m obsessed with my cats too. I have two—they’re brothers—and they are the best. Meow, meow!
Lastly (and most importantly), if you could have a superpower, what would it be?
I am a big X-Men fan, so I would want Magneto’s powers. He is able to control magnetic fields, which allows him to manipulate anything that is metal. He can also fly because of this.
