What are Affiliate Networks?
Affiliate Networks, like ShareASale and Commission Junction, are affiliate marketing networks that act as a middleman between you and the advertiser to make sure your sales are tracked and that you receive your due commission from sales you refer. Affiliates use these networks to find products to promote and earn commission for referrals on those products. The networks track all activity, arrange the payment, and help affiliates set up links on their Web site. Affiliate networks also help to recruit affiliates by including the online merchant’s affiliate program in their directory. In return for their service, the networks take a small percentage of the sales earned by affiliates.
How do clients and networks work together?
Our clients (Advertisers) have chosen to work with networks like ShareASale and Commission Junction in order to track all of their affiliate transactions. Affiliate networks are a fantastic way to expand a companies online presence.

What are two tier links?
Two Tier Links allow you participate in our affiliate referral programs. We like to reward you for bringing in new productive affiliates, so we send you a bonus when you send us qualified blogging friends to join our programs. You can find the correct link by following these instructions: Links > Get Link/Banner > Search for your Advertiser > Click “Get Links” > Click “Two-Tier Links” tab > copy the HTML code onto your site.
What are FTC Disclosure Rules?
You must include a disclosure statement within any and all pages, blog/posts, or social media posts where affiliate links for our affiliate program are posted as an endorsement or review, and where it is not clear that the link is a paid advertisement. This disclosure statement should be clear and concise, stating that we are compensating you for your review or endorsement. If you received the product for free from us or from the affiliate management team for review, this also must be clearly stated in your disclosure.
- Disclosures must be made at the beginning of the claims and may not appear solely in a “Terms of Use”, “Legal”, “About Us” or other linked page.
- Disclosures should be placed above the fold; scrolling should not be necessary to find the disclosure. (e.g. disclosure should be visible before the jump).
- Pop-up, hover state and button disclosures are prohibited.
- Disclosure policy applies to all social media, even when space is restricted (e.g. tweets)
- Disclosures should be made in the same medium as the claim (e.g. video, text)

How do I find my correct affiliate ID?
SAS: Your affiliate ID is a 6 digit number located at the top of your home page, right next to your name.
CJ: Commission Junction has a few “ID’s” for you as an affiliate. The CID(Company ID) is your main identification number in Commission Junction that differentiates you from other publishers, you will find that number in the top right of your home page. In addition to your CID, each website you submit to Commission Junction also has a PID (Publisher ID). You can find your PID by clicking on the Accounts Tab, then “Website Settings”.

What is an affiliate program?
An Affiliate Program is a service that allows participating websites to earn commission on sales referred to participating merchants using specially tracked links. We provide you with custom links and banners that you can post on your website. Then, when a visitor you’ve referred makes a purchase, you earn a commission on the sale. Is my website eligible for an Affiliate Program?
We accept almost all types of websites that are relevant to our merchants and do not contain objectionable or offensive materials. We welcome all applications but reserve the right to refuse membership or revoke a membership at any time.
Can I become an affiliate if I live outside the United States?
Yes. We accept affiliates from anywhere in the world, as long as ShareASale and/or Commission Junction supports your country of residence. Here are a few things to keep in mind: all commission payments are currently made in U.S. dollars and a majority of our clients only ship to the US and Canada (please send us an email with any questions about specific clients: affiliates@acceleration-partners.com).
Are there any fees?
There are no fees associated with our affiliate programs. It is completely free to participate.
Do I receive any discounts as an affiliate?
No. However, we recommend you purchase your orders through your own links so you can earn commission on the sales. You are also free to utilize any of the coupon codes we let you know about.
Can I be an affiliate without a website?
Yes, it just takes some extra effort. Text links can be taken from the ShareASale and/or Commission Junction website and whenever you get an order from a customer that you would like to fulfill, copy that text link into your browser and press enter. This will take you to the merchant’s website through the ShareASale and/or Commission Junction routing system and you’ll get credit for the sale.
How can I find out about current offers to promote on my site?
Merchants will often send monthly newsletters to announce current offers for you to promote on your site. ShareASale affiliates can also check the Deal Database https://www.shareasale.com/a-dealscurrent.cfm for current sales.
Can I be removed from the affiliate newsletter distribution list?
Emails are sent through either the ShareASale or Commission Junction interface, a third-party network we’ve partnered with to administer the affiliate programs. In order for you to be removed from the distribution list, we would have to completely remove you from the affiliate program.
Joining & Creating Links Commissions
How do I know if my application has been received or if I have been accepted into the affiliate program?
If your application has been submitted correctly, you should receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam folder. Otherwise, you might not have finished the process correctly and you should resubmit your application. Once approved, you will receive a welcome email from the affiliate manager.
How do I find links/banners?
ShareASale: To find the appropriate links or banners for your page, log into your account and click on the “Links” tab and select “Get a Link/Banner”. Once you are in the “Get a Link/Banner” tab, you may select any of the links or banners available in your account.
Commission Junction: To find the appropriate links or banners for your page, log into your account and click on the “Get Links” tab and select “New Links”. Once you are in the “New Links” tab, you may select any of the links or banners available in your account.
What is deep linking?
Deep Linking in Commission Junction allows you to adjust the landing page of links or banners, allowing you to refer viewers to specific products.
How do I create links in ShareASale?
To create a ShareASale custom text link, click: Links, Create a Custom Link and then choose the merchant. Enter the Destination URL in the Destination URL space (being sure to not repeat the http://, so it should start www). Click on Create Custom Link and ShareASale will produce a link for you with your affiliate id embedded.
To grab a ShareASale banner link, click “Get this Banner’s HTML Code” under each banner or link that you want to display. The shortest code available is easiest to add to your site, use in email and use directly in a browser.
Am I obligated to place a certain number of links on my website?
There is no limit. We encourage you to use as many as necessary and appropriate to improve click-through and conversion rates. We have found that a creative banner along with a text link or merchant logo improves effectiveness.
What if I already know HTML and need some advanced help linking?

Where should I post my banners?
We recommend you think of the placements that would be most appealing to potential customers and place creatives to promote the highest click-throughs and conversion possible.
How can I promote on Social Media Platforms?
Promotion on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms is permitted following these general guidelines:
1. You are allowed to promote offers to your own lists; more specifically, you’re welcome to use your affiliate links on your own Facebook, Twitter, etc. pages.
2. You are prohibited from posting your affiliate links on the merchant’s Facebook, Twitter, etc. company pages in an attempt to turn those links into affiliate sales.
How can I promote on Pinterest?
Currently affiliate links don’t work on Pinterest. When you use an affiliate link it has to go through www.shareasale.com… so that ShareASale can track the activity. Adding your affiliate info on the end of a merchant’s website link will not track. As far as we know, there’s no way for individual affiliates to use affiliate links on Pinterest. However, RewardStyle, a service for fashion bloggers, has a special partnership with Pinterest and their users are able to take affiliate links and turn them into pins through rewardStyle.
Where do I submit blog bonus posts?
We will periodically send out newsletters with information you can blog about to earn a bonus. We will also include this link https://www.accelerationpartners.com/Blog-Bonus-Submission/ for you to use in submitting your links for review.
How can I change an Affiliate Link display title?
It’s very easy to update the html code to include whatever wording you would like. Simply adjust the bolded text and make sure you have your html code correct:
Can I use images from your site on my own webpage?
All of the content on our clients websites is protected by copyright. You may use images and content from our websites in the promotion of our products on your own website, however all images must be attributed and/or used in conjunction with the sale of the product through the affiliate programs. The images cannot be used in the general design of your website.
If you have a special circumstance that requires the use of any photos, product images or content in a manner that is not consistent with the policy stated above, please contact us for written approval prior to the content’s use.
What if I forgot my ShareASale account password?

Account Information & Reporting
How does the affiliate program know when I should receive credit for an order?
Our system tracks a cookie that is automatically applied to the computer of a person who clicks on a banner or text link that has your ID number embedded within it. Each banner or link that you create is specifically tagged with your ShareASale and/or Commission Junction ID, letting us know that you deserve commission on the sales you send to the merchant.
When and how do I get paid?
ShareASale and Commission Junction will pay your monthly commission by either check or direct deposit. To be paid by ShareASale, your account needs to have a balance of $50 on more before the end of the month in order to receive a payment. Otherwise, it will continue to roll forward into the next month until the $50 minimum is reached and they can issue a payment.
What sales and revenue reports are provided for affiliates?
Each transaction is logged on ShareASale & Commission Junction servers and is available for review in detail in your account.

How do product returns affect my commission?
If a customer returns a product for a refund, or if credit card charges are reversed due to a dispute or credit card fraud, your account will be debited the commission.
Do I earn commission credits if someone clicks on a product on my site and then buys a different product?
Yes. You will receive full credit for any product that is purchased by a customer who clicks on your affiliate link.
Is there a minimum annual threshold?
There is no minimum sales level required to remain in the program, but you will not receive a ShareASale commission check until you earn $50 in commission.
