Acceleration Partners’ 2016 Year In Review

As we ring in the New Year, we wanted to take some time to reflect on what has been a rewarding year for Acceleration Partners and for our clients. We’re excited by our growth this past year and all that we have planned for 2017.  Here’s a quick look back of some of our favorite moments from 2016:

We Welcomed 50 New Clients!

We brought on 50 new clients in 2016, many of which were on our “would love to work with” list, including Evenflo, Jet.com, Lovepop, MPG Sports, NatureBox, Pier 1 Imports, Sally Beauty, U.S. Polo Association, and many others (including a few we can’t name). In 2016, our clients’ programs exceeded $1 billion in annual revenue, which was driven by over 18,000 click active Performance Partners™.  Our clients continue to value us for our ability to think strategically, innovate, cultivate high-value partnerships and analyze data and trends to drive the best possible results.

We Grew!

22 new team members joined AP in 2016. We also created 21 new roles, promoted 11 people, and filled 10 open positions. At the start of 2017, we have 10 open positions.

A key factor of our success is that we bring on team members who our aligned with our core values and love what they do.  Our work culture fosters creativity and innovation, inspiring our team to raise the bar every day. AP employees are happy and engaged both at work and in their personal lives, which is the foundation of industry leadership and growth.

This is reflected in our 4.9 Glassdoor rating, a metric that is in the top 1% of all companies and well above the average rating of 3.4.  What’s more is that 100% of current and previous employees who have reviewed our company approve of the CEO and would recommend us to a friend. Our team came together towards the end of 2016 for our annual AP Summit. At these events, employees engage in 3-4 days of learning, socializing and teambuilding activities. I presented my three year Vivid Vision for AP and we all collaborated on ways in which we can best service our clients.  Employees bonded and enjoyed spending time together with trivia, game and paint nights as well as a team-led scavenger hunt.

We continue to offer AP employees flexibility and the ability to work from home. We also expanded our core geographic hubs (Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago) to include Denver and Southern California. Our hubs provide team members with the opportunity to partner and socialize locally with colleagues. We even went international, hiring our first London-based employee. This was our first step as we look to we expand our services in the UK and throughout other European nations.

We Received Much Recognition for our Culture and Performance

In addition to bringing on new clients and team members and helping them grow, we were also honored by a slew of culture and performance awards in 2016. These achievements were made possible by the hard work and dedication of our talented team and our partnerships with some of the most innovative brands and technology leaders.

We Improved Our View

Acceleration Partners released APView™, our next generation reporting and CRM system. APView™ gives us a better view of our clients’ programs by streamlining the integration of multi-network affiliate programs, analyzing the performance of affiliates, improving communication with partners, and uncovering new publisher opportunities for our clients.  By truly understanding the value of their program and partnerships on every level, our clients will now have the opportunity to make more informed, strategic decisions.

We Mobilized New Partners

Mobile is one of the fastest growing areas of affiliate marketing. To stay on top of this rising trend and help our clients take advantage of mobile’s growing opportunities, we partnered with Button in 2016.

Button’s solution connects the mobile apps and sites of leading publishers (Conde Nast, Ibotta and more) with other apps, thus driving acquisition of valuable users. In the affiliate space, Button gives affiliates the ability to add a “button” to their mobile app. When a user clicks on that button, they are connected to an offer that is relevant to them and that’s driven by their user data and actions. This creates a more personalized shopping experience for the user and a more trackable and attributable mobile marketing process for merchants. As a result, the merchant’s affiliate spend more efficient.

I Launched Friday Forward!

At the beginning of 2016, I started sending short, inspirational emails to the AP team every Friday to kick-off their weekend on a high note. As we started sharing these emails with our friends, family and industry partners, the distribution list grew. As of last count, over 6,000 people receive these Friday inspirations, which we formalized into a Friday Forward website.

We Look Forward to 2017

We’re excited for what’s ahead in 2017. I will be releasing a book titled, “Performance Partnerships™,” which will define “true” affiliate (performance) marketing for the first time and provide actionable takeaways for marketing leaders to drive sales and increase ROI via the affiliate channel.

In addition, AP will launch a new affiliate grader, the first online-assessment tool of its kind, to help brands better understand their current affiliate program performance. From program management and compliance to recruitment and optimization, the affiliate grader will uncover program strengths, as well as areas of improvement.

We will also be expanding our team internationally, which will allow us to support the rapidly growing demand for global program management from current and prospective clients.

2016 was a breakthrough year for Acceleration Partners and we are exceptionally grateful for the support of our clients, partners, advisors and team. In this New Year, we look forward to bringing innovative ideas to our clients that will help them take their business to the next level.
